Monkeynastix is a unique physical literacy program for children aged 1 to 12 years focusing on developing fundamental movement skills.

Focussing on developing children’s fundamental movement skills, we provide weekly, hourly and termly programs that run from 30 to 45 minutes each class at various venues across Canada!
Working on the long-term development of children, Monkeynastix primarily focuses on the physical, cognitive and social skills of all participants of the programs and classes.

Monkeynastix was established in 1995 in South Africa by CEO Dirk Cilliers as a movement education program. Dirk has a wealth of hands on experience as he was a gymnast from a very young age. Realizing the need for movement education in young children, Dirk created Monkeynastix, originally a pre-school gymnastics and movement education program. 50 children registered in the first year and there are currently more than 45,000 children registered worldwide in 19 countries!
Monkeynastix Canada was established as a Master Franchise under the ownership of Jennifer van der Wath in 2009. Enveloping Physical Literacy into their curriculum Monkeynastix began in Canada partnering with various City/Town Recreation departments as well as day care centers, schools and public venues.
With a mandate to get kids moving and develop their fundamental movement skills, Monkeynastix moved its head office to Burlington, expanding Monkeynastix into the GTA area with current franchises in Barrie, Brampton, Burlington, Halton Hills, Hamilton, Milton, Mississauga, Niagara, Oakville, Toronto, Vaughan and York Region.
Monkeynastix currently has expanded its brand to Alberta with a Franchise in Calgary as well as to Quebec with a Franchise in Montreal.
